HYDEAWAY FARM FAQ: Low Stock Levels (2020/10/26)

We are investing a lot in management, monitoring systems, training, cow comfort, products and processes to ensure milk of the highest quality. Furthermore, our cows eat mostly grass and hay, and our feed supplements are certified free from antibiotics by our feed supplier. We therefore cannot simply buy in milk that does not adhere to our standards.

We have not bought any animals to add to our Jersey stud since April 2014, when we bought a Northern Champion cow from a very exclusive blood line. All our cows currently on the farm were born here; all are tested regularly and our cows have never (in 20 years) tested positively for any disease that can be transmitted to humans via their milk. Buying in cows might introduce disease, and this is a risk that we are not willing to take.

Please therefore bear with us while we do our best to improve our stock situation within the constraints explained above, as we would rather run out of stock than provide products of inferior quality.
